Fresh Ideas, Timeless Principles

Jobs and Economy

Minnesotans have an incredible work ethic.  We know how to get things done.  We want to work and provide for our families.  However, employers are leaving Minnesota for more favorable business climates, and they are taking many jobs with them. Other businesses, based outside of Minnesota, are reluctant to consider our state when planning to move or expand their operations due to the high tax and regulatory burdens imposed by our legislature.

When our state legislature manages its budget poorly, employers are hurt by higher taxes.  When the state legislature listens to lobbyists and special interest groups instead of the people, it imposes ill advised regulation on employers.  When businesses can not succeed in our state, we are in trouble. Employers are forced to make difficult decisions about downsizing, moving out of state or closing their doors for good.

To support Minnesota workers, I will fight for fiscal responsibility and work to reduce corporate income taxes and harmful government regulation.
